DAY 1.- ARRIVAL IN CUSCO & TRANSFER TO YOUR HOTEL.

Bienvenidos! Welcome to Peru!

Your adventure begins with a welcoming greeting at Cusco airport and take you to our partner lodge in the charming historic district of San Blas. The lodge is centrally located and only a few minutes’ walk from the Plaza de Armas, the beautiful and bustling town center. Meet your expedition group at 5:00 pm for an orientation talk to review your itinerary, packing list, and what to expect in your new days.

DAY 2.- CHINCHERO – MORAY – SALT MINES – MACHUPICCHU TOWN.

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before heading out for a day of exploring the outskirts of Cusco. You will be collected from your hotel by your expert, local guide and private vehicle to be driven firstly to Chinchero where you will appreciate the Inka walls that are very well preserved in the main square as well as many altars directed to the four cardinal points. Continuing, we will participate in a wonderful exposition of Andean weaving art; During the weaving we will become familiar with the wisdom of Andean weavings, such and as they are maintained long before Inka times.

Then we visit Moray with views of the snow-capped Andes peaks, lush fields, and colorful villages. Moray boasts three ancient amphitheater-like terraces made by the Incas. After Moray, head to the Maras Salt Mines (20 minute drive). This village is famous for its salt-producing center (with over 3,000 salt pools) that pre-dates Incan rule.

Finally we board our train to Machupicchu town and rest up for the following day.

DAY 3.- FULL DAY – EXPLORING MACHUPICCHU.

Today Is The Best Day Of All Our Lives!!!

Welcome to Machupicchu!! After your delicious breakfast, your private guide will pick you up from your hotel, then you will board one of the buses to go all the way up to Machupicchu. Once you arrive to Machupicchu citadel, the adventure starts, your expert local guide will take you on a comprehensive tour of the Machupicchu citadel, really bringing it to life by detailing the history, significance and myths surrounding it as well as taking you to the hidden corners and best viewpoints.

We will have enough time to explore the whole area of Machupicchu. Then after your guided tour, we will go back to the town of Aguas Calientes in order to enjoy our lunch, after lunch we will board our train to Ollantaytambo and then by our private transportation back to your hotel in Chinchero.

DAY 4.- HUMANTAY LAKE – A MYSTIC EXPERIENCE IN THE HEARTH OF OUR MOTHER EARTH.

We will pick you up around 4:30AM in the morning to take you on a 3 hours bus ride to the village of Mollepata (2,900 masl / 9,515 ft) where we will have a delicious breakfast and recover energy to go to Soraypampa (3,850 masl / 12,631 ft). From this point, we will start to hike or if you wish, you can rent horses offered by the inhabitants of the area.

During the ascent, we will have the opportunity to observe the diverse flora and fauna that inhabit the area. We can observe some native birds of the area, as well as to get great views of the Andean landscape. Once arrived in the area, we will enjoy our snacks and replenish our energy while enjoing the greaties views of the mountains in the andes of Peru.

Once we reach our goal, we will be delighted with the spectacular views of the Humantay Lagoon (4,200 masl / 13 779 feet) and its turquoise waters where you can take spectacular photographs. We will thank the Pachamama and the Apus in a small ritual with coca.

After having relaxed, we will descend to Soraypampa where our transport will be waiting for us to take us to Mollepata. Arriving here, we will take our lunch, to later transport ourselves back to the city of Cusco and leave you at your hotel.

DAY 5.- RAINBOW MOUNTAIN TOUR – CUSCO.

Pick up from your hotel in Cusco early, and we will undertake a trip to the south of Cusco through the beautiful landscapes of the valley and agricultural communities. The trip will take approximately 2 hours to reach the community of Pitumarka. Once there in the community, we will have a delicious breakfast prepared by our chef from our family INTI PERU ADVENTURES.

After breakfast we will begin our trek, following a beautiful pass
between mountains, you will enjoy incredible views of the Andes, glacial peaks, red mountains, accompanied by Ausangate, the fifth highest peak in Peru. Also you wil appreciate llamas and alpacas that graze throughout the valley. Occasionally we will be observing local people moving for their daily activities.

The ascent of the route will take us a total of 2 hours approximately, taking us to our final destination the highest point of our trek, Vinincunca or Rainbow Mountain, Here we will stop to admire and appreciate the outstanding views that we will find in all directions and also the rare geological formations with exotic colors. In the distance and below us we will see infinite valleys and glaciers until we lose sight of them.

We will stop to explore for about 30 minutes – the perfect amount of time to rest, immerse ourselves in this wild environment before starting our descent, which will take us about 2 hours. Upon returning to Pitumarka, our cook will be waiting for us with a delicious hot lunch. Our chef will surprise us with a delicious buffet lunch. Then after lunch we will have enought timeto observe the lifestyle and customs that are still practiced since Inca times. Here Quechua is the native language of the Incas, it is spoken very well, and agriculture is essential for life.

At the end of the day, our tour will conclude with the return to the city of Cusco in our private transportation. We will leave you at your hotel around 5:00 p.m.

DAY 6.- FREE MORNING & TRANSFER TO THE AIRPORT.

After a delicious breakfast, enjoy your own time of this archeological city of Cusco with a great relaxing morning time.

DAY 1.- ARRIVAL IN CUSCO & CITY TOUR – TEMPLE OF THE SUN.

Your adventure begins with a welcoming greeting at Cusco airport to transfer you to your hotel.
Enjoy the arecheological city of Cusco, known particularly for its excellent cuisine and good museums, as well as the historic down-town areas. You’ll have all of our recommendations at hand for the best things to see and do in the city to make the very most of your stay.

Your local expert guide will collect you from your hotel for a tour of the city, starting out at the Santo Domingo convent monastery. This former colonial monastery was previously the Qoricancha Temple, one of the most important temples devoted to the worship of the sun (“in our ancient language “Quechua” the Sun is called INTI”) and according to the chronicles, the Qoricancha was covered in gold leaf and filled with golden representations of nature. Your next stop will be the Plaza de Armas.

After touring the most interesting sites of the city, you will be driven by private vehicle to the countryside just outside Cusco to visit some of the remarkable Inca ruins in the area such as the cult centre of Sacsayhuaman, one of the emblematic buildings of the Inca Empire (just above from the center of the city and a UNESCO World Heritage Site) built by the Inca Pachacutec in the 15th Century. It is a vast fortress built from huge stones and the way how they built and transported and worked is still a mystery. The temple and amphitheatre of Qenko, and the Red Fortress of Puca Pucara.

DAY 2.- SACRED VALLEY OF THE INCAS  & TRAIN TO AGUAS CALIENTES.

Guiding you through to the fertile Sacred Valley, once the spiritual and commercial heartland of the Inca Empire. You will be collected from your hotel by your expert, local guide and private vehicle to be driven firstly to Chinchero, on this site we will appreciate the Inka walls that are very well preserved in the main square as well as many altars directed to the four cardinal points. We will also visit the beautiful colonial church, unique for its work of art. Continuing, we will participate in a wonderful exposition of Andean weaving art; During the weaving we will become familiar with the wisdom of Andean weavings, such and as they are maintained long before Inka times.

Our next stop is going to be Moray, Inca terraces for some soft hiking in these spectacular landscapes, which has been proven to be an experimental center for understanding the various climates and temperatures of different crops or agricultural plants, perhaps even used for domestication of different crops. After exploring Moray, we will descend lower in elevation to the salt mines of Maras, an important production center dating back to pre-Inca times. Here there are over 3,000 salt pools carved into the mountain side, filled daily by water seeping from the Earth, what we call the tears of Mother Earth!

Finally we will desend to base of the Sacred Valley to the living town of the Incas “Ollantaytambo”.

In the afternoon we will board the train to Aguas Calientes.

DAY 3.- PRIVATE TOUR OF MACHUPICCHU.

After a delicious breakfast at the hotel your private guide will take you on a comprehensive tour of the Machupicchu citadel, really bringing it to life by detailing the history, significance and myths surrounding it as well as taking you to the hidden corners and best viewpoints. Then after your guided tour, you’ll enjoy a delicious lunch before an afternoon at your leisure. You can explore the areas around Machu Picchu or carry on exploring the ruins.

We will coordinate the time to meet in Aguas Calientes to board our train back to Ollantaytambo and then we will transfer you in our private bus or van back to the sacred valley to your hotel in  Chinchero.

Optional:

The trek to the peak of Huayna Picchu: Huayna Picchu is the mountain that stands next to Machu Picchu. It is a 45 minute hike to the top. Going back down is quite steep, if you are scared of heights. This is done after your tour of Machu Picchu. The cost is $35 per person to hike. Arrangements need to be made at least one month in advance, due to popularity.

Difficulty: Moderate to challenging.

The trek to Machu Picchu Mountain: It has the most spectacular view, It is a 1.5 hours hike to the top. Located to the southwest of the citadel of Machu Picchu with a height of 3,050 m (10,007 ft.), This trek offers unparalleled views of the famous Inca sanctuary and also panoramic views of the surrounding mountainous landscape. The cost is $35 per person to hike.

Difficulty: Moderate to challenging.

DAY 4.- VIVENTIAL TOURISM IN CHINCHERO – UMASBAMBA.

DÍA 1.- Experiencia de Día Completo en la Montaña  de Colores- Servicio Privado.

Lo recogeremos de su hotel en Cusco muy temprano, para emprender un viaje al sur de Cusco a través de los hermosos paisajes del valle y las comunidades agrícolas.
El viaje tomará aproximadamente 2 horas para llegar a la comunidad de Pitumarka. Una vez allí, tendremos un delicioso desayuno preparado por nuestro chef.
Después del desayuno, comenzaremos nuestra caminata, siguiendo un hermoso paso entre montañas, disfrutará de increíbles vistas de los Andes, picos glaciales, montañas rojas, acompañado por Ausangate, el quinto pico más alto del Perú.
También apreciará rebaños de llamas y alpacas que pastan en todo el valle. llevándonos a nuestro destino final, el punto más alto de nuestra caminata, Montaña de Siete Colores, aquí nos detendremos para admirar y apreciar las vistas excepcionales que encontraremos en todas las direcciones y también las raras Formaciones geológicas con colores exóticos. DAY 1.- CUSCO “THE PUMA CITY” – CITY TOUR.

Bienvenidos! Welcome to Peru. Your adventure begins with a welcoming greeting at Cusco City. Your local expert guide will collect you from your hotel for a tour of the Cusco city ” The Puma City” starting out at the Santo Domingo convent monastery. This former colonial monastery was previously the Qoricancha Temple, also known as the “Temple of the Sun” or where the gold shines. One of the most important temples devoted to the worship of the sun (“in our ancient language “Quechua” the Sun is called INTI”). According to the chronicles, it was covered in gold leaf and filled with golden representations of nature. Your next stop will be the Plaza de Armas or the main plaza of Cusco.

Finally we are going to visit Cusco’s central market, a wonderful way to discover the Andean culture and daily life. This vibrant spot, with its dazzling displays of fresh produce and fascinating local products, could keep you entertained for hours.

DAY 2.- SACRED VALLEY TOUR & TRAIN TO MACHUPICCHU.

Guiding you into the Sacred Valley, by your expert, local guide with private vehicle to be driven firstly to Chinchero, on this site we will appreciate the Inka walls and beautiful colonial church, unique for its work of art. Continuing, we will participate in an exposition of Andean weaving art; such and as they are maintained long before Inka times.

Our next stop is going to be Moray, Inca terraces for some soft hiking in these spectacular landscapes, which has been proven to be an experimental center for understanding the various climates and temperatures of different crops or agricultural plants, perhaps even used for domestication of different crops. After exploring Moray, we will descend lower in elevation to the salt mines of Maras, an important production center dating back to pre-Inca times. Here there are over 3,000 salt pools carved into the mountain side, filled daily by water seeping from the Earth, what we call the tears of Mother Earth!

Finally we will desend to base of the Sacred Valley to the living town of the Incas “Ollantaytambo”.

DAY 3.- PRIVATE TOUR OF MACHUPICCHU.

After a delicious breakfast at the hotel your private guide will take you on a comprehensive tour of the Machupicchu citadel, really bringing it to life by detailing the history, significance and myths surrounding it as well as taking you to the hidden corners and best viewpoints. Then once you have finished your guided tour, We will  take the bus to go back to Aguas Calientes town to enjoy a delicious lunch before to board our train back to Ollantaytambo. Once you arrive to Ollantaytambo train station, our transfer will be there waiting for you holding a signed board with your name on it,  and then we will transfer you in our private transportation back to Cusco to your hotel, so with this experiences we have completed our service to Machupicchu – Cusco and the Sacred Valley of The Incas.

DAY 1.- ARRIVAL IN CUSCO & TRANSFER TO YOUR HOTEL.

DAY 2.- SACRED VALLEY & TRAIN TO MACHUPICCHU.

Guiding you through to the fertile Sacred Valley, once the spiritual and commercial heartland of the Inca Empire. You will be collected from your hotel by your expert, local guide and private vehicle to be driven firstly to The Animal Sanctuary of Cochawasi, located in heart of the valley: here we may observe many of the native Andean species such as the puma, Andean cóndor, alpacas, and many more.

Your next stop will be the Incan fortress of Pisaq. where you can see the biggest Inca cemetery with more than 2000 tombs. There we can admire the incredible farming terraces carved into the mountain and the religious area of this important citadel.

After Pisac we head to Urubamba where we have a delicious  buffet lunch (Not Included).  Then we continue on to Ollantaytambo, the oldest continuously occupied town on the American continent. The narrow streets of Ollantaytambo, along with their canals, have not changed much from the time of the Inca Empire, giving you a feeling of what it would have been like to live during this time.

In the afternoon we will board the train to Machupicchu town.

DAY 3.- PRIVATE TOUR OF MACHUPICCHU.

DAY 4 TO 7.- “4 DAYS AUSANGATE ADVENTURE & RAINBOW MOUNTAIN”

DAY 4.- FIRST DAY ADVENTURE: CUSCO – TINKI – UPIS – HOT SPRINGS.

This amazing adventure will start after your breakfast, We will pick you up from your hotel at 4 a.m. to begin your expedition. You will have private transportation to the trail head at Tinki. Tinki is a small Andean village located near Ocongate, located at 3,900 m/12,795 ft above sea level. Here, you will meet your horsemen and horses. You will enjoy your first breakfast prepared by our trekking chef.

Then, you will start the gradual, uphill hike. It will be three or four hours until we reach our lunch area. Along the way, we will have amazing views of Ausagnate, far in the distance. We will pass by traditional villages, and perhaps meet some local people, dressed in their colorful, traditional clothing. They may be accompanying their indigenous llamas. Our lunch spot is in an amazing location, surrounded by stunning mountains and an excellent view of Ausangate Glacier peak. After lunch, it will be another two hour hike until we reach our campsite at Upis Alto, near the famous hot springs. Upis Alto is a small village located at 4,100 m/13,451 ft elevation. This will be our first campsite at the skirt of  Ausangate.

DAY 5.- SECOND DAY ADVENTURE: UPIS – CONDOR PASS – PUKACOCHA.

After an early, nutritious breakfast you will prepare for the second day of the hike. Today, you will have wonderful views of the Ausangate glacier peaks. You will also see the lakes and waterfalls, and perhaps some llamas, alpacas and wild vicuñas (the undomesticated ancestor of the alpaca), as well as condors soaring above. We will have a three hour, uphill hike until we reach the first pass, which is at 5,000 m/ 16,404 ft high. You will have magnificent views of the surrounding area, especially in the dry season. In some months of the year, we will hike through some snow.

You will most likely get to see vicuñas, which are the most impressive, wild animals in Peru. They belong to the family of Andean camelids. Today, their fleece is the most expensive wool the world. After taking some amazing pictures, we will continue on a two and a half hour, gradual, downhill hike until we reach a beautiful area, where you will enjoy your second day’s lunch. Following, it will be another two and a half hours until we arrive at our campsite, at Puca Ccocha (Red Lake). This campsite is one of the most beautiful campsites, located at the skirt of the Ausangate peak and at the bank of the lake. You can see amazing sunsets from here, and perhaps some condors and eagles flying nearby.

DAY 6.- THIRD DAY ADVENTURE: PUKACOCHA – CHILLKA – VICUÑA PASS.

We will wake you up early with a hot cup of coca tea, to start one of the most beautiful days of the trek. You will enjoy the majestic views of some of the highest peaks in the Andes, and the depths of the beautiful valleys. You will have two mountain passes to make today.

After an early breakfast, we will start with a two to three hour, steep climb to Alpaca Pass at 5,100 m/ 16,732 ft elevation. Along the way, you will have gorgeous views of the blue lakes and the Ausangate Glacier Peak. You may even see avalanches happening from the glacial hills. Once you reach the summit of this mountain, you will be right in front of Ausangate, so you will be able to enjoy the Chillca Valley, and the many alpaca grazing along these hills. After taking some great pictures, you will continue for another two hours on a gradual, downhill trek, then we reach our lunch spot, located in Chillca Valley. Be aware that some sections of the trail can be a bit difficult to see. You will see views of the waterfalls, green hills and snow-capped peaks.

After enjoying your lunch and a little nap, you will continue on to the second pass of the day, called Vicuña pass, at 5,300 m/17,388 ft elevation. It will be a slow-paced, hour and a half hike to reach the summit of this highest pass of the trek. Along the way, it may be possible to see some condors, and vicuñas. Once we are on top of the mountain we will enjoy a cup or two of traditional coca tea which will be provided by your porters. Then it will be another one hour, downhill hike until we arrive at our campsite at the banks of Lake Yanaccocha, where you will enjoy our daily happy hour of hot drinks. This campsite is located few hours away from our final destination, The Rainbow Mountains.

This is a perfect place to spot the famous Inca constellations and do some star-gazing.

DAY 7.- RAINBOW MOUNTAIN – CHILLKA VILLAGE – CUSCO.

After another early breakfast with your trekking team, you will will gradually trek uphill for an hour and a half until we reach the famous Rainbow Mountains and the Red Mountain Valley, located at 5,200 m /17,060 ft elevation. Your tour guide will walk you to to the perfect spots for postcard pictures. He will also explain why these mountains are different from any other mountains in the Vilcantoa Range. Part of the difference is due to a composition of various minerals, which make different colors of stone striations in the middle of the Red Mountains. This is one of the key tourist highlights in South America, and one of the most beautiful natural attractions in Peru.

After taking photos and enjoying the views, you will continue on the expedition to the end of the trail. This is all downhill, along the Chillca Valley. You will travel three hours until you stop to enjoy your final lunch with your team. We will then drive for 2 hours back to Cusco and drop you off at your hotel. The drive provides nice views of the Andes and we will pass some traditional villages along the way. You will be arriving into Cusco around 6 p.m.

DAY 8.- DAY AT LEISURE IN CUSCO.

Explore the beautiful city of Cusco at your own pace with a day at leisure. It´s time to explore the Incan Puma City.

One of the Highlights of Cusco is our central market, a wonderful way to discover the Andean culture and daily life. This vibrant spot, with its dazzling displays of fresh produce and fascinating local products, could keep you entertained for hours.

DAY 9.- HUMANTAY LAGOON ADVENTURE.

We will start our adventure picking you up from your hotel at 05:00 in the morning to be able to take you on a trip of around 3 hours to the village of Mollepata (2,900 masl / 9,515 ft) where we will have a delicious breakfast and recover energy to go to Soraypampa (3,850 masl / 12,631 ft). From this point, we will start the walk to which our guide will look carefully at any problem that may occur, if you wish, you can rent horses offered by the inhabitants of the area.

During the ascent, we will have the opportunity to observe the diverse flora and fauna that inhabit the area. We can observe some native birds of the area, as well as to get great views of the Andean landscape. Once arrived in the area, we will enjoy our small lunchbox and replenish our energy. Once we reach our goal, we will be delighted with the spectacular views of the Humantay Lagoon (4,200 masl / 13 779 feet) and its turquoise waters where you can take spectacular photographs. We will thank the Pachamama and the Apus in a small ritual with coca.

After having relaxed, we will descend to Soraypampa where our transport will be waiting for us to take us to Mollepata. Arriving here, we will take our lunch, to later transport ourselves back to the city of Cusco and leave it in hotel.

After touring the most interesting sites of the city, you will be driven by private vehicle to the countryside just outside Cusco to visit some of the remarkable Inca ruins in the area such as the cult centre of Sacsayhuaman, one of the emblematic buildings of the Inca Empire (just above from the center of the city and a UNESCO World Heritage Site) built by the Inca Pachacutec in the 15th Century. It is a vast fortress built from huge stones and the way how they built and transported and worked is still a mystery. The temple and amphitheatre of Qenko, and the Red Fortress of Puca Pucara.

DAY 3.- SACRED VALLEY & TRAIN TO MACHUPICCHU.

Guiding you through to the fertile Sacred Valley, once the spiritual and commercial heartland of the Inca Empire. You will be collected from your hotel by your expert, local guide and private vehicle to be driven firstly to The Animal Sanctuary of Cochawasi, located in heart of the valley: here we may observe many of the native Andean species such as the puma, Andean cóndor, alpacas, and many more.

Your next stop will be the Incan fortress of Pisaq. where you can see the biggest Inca cemetery with more than 2000 tombs. There we can admire the incredible farming terraces carved into the mountain and the religious area of this important citadel.

After Pisac we head to Urubamba where we have a delicious  buffet lunch (Not Included).  Then we continue on to Ollantaytambo, the oldest continuously occupied town on the American continent. The narrow streets of Ollantaytambo, along with their canals, have not changed much from the time of the Inca Empire, giving you a feeling of what it would have been like to live during this time.

In the afternoon we will board the train to Machupicchu town.

DAY 4.- PRIVATE TOUR OF MACHUPICCHU.

After a delicious breakfast at the hotel your private guide will take you on a comprehensive tour of the Machupicchu citadel, really bringing it to life by detailing the history, significance and myths surrounding it as well as taking you to the hidden corners and best viewpoints. Then after your guided tour, you’ll enjoy a delicious lunch before an afternoon at your leisure. You can explore the areas around Machu Picchu or carry on exploring the ruins.

We will coordinate the time to meet in Aguas Calientes to board our train back to Ollantaytambo and then we will transfer you in our private bus or van back to Cusco to your hotel, so with this experiences we have completed our service to Machupicchu and the Sacred Valley of The Incas.

The trek to the peak of Huayna Picchu: Huayna Picchu is the mountain that stands next to Machu Picchu. It is a 45 minute hike to the top. Going back down is quite steep, if you are scared of heights. This is done after your tour of Machu Picchu. The cost is $70 per person to hike. Arrangements need to be made at least one month in advance, due to popularity.

Difficulty: Moderate to challenging.

The trek to Machu Picchu Mountain: It has the most spectacular view, It is a 1.5 hours hike to the top. Located to the southwest of the citadel of Machu Picchu with a height of 3,050 m (10,007 ft.), This trek offers unparalleled views of the famous Inca sanctuary and also panoramic views of the surrounding mountainous landscape. The cost is $70 per person to hike.

DAY 5 TO 8.- “4 DAYS AUSANGATE ADVENTURE & RAINBOW MOUNTAIN”

DAY 5.- FIRST DAY ADVENTURE: CUSCO – TINKI – UPIS – HOT SPRINGS.

This amazing adventure will start after your breakfast, We will pick you up from your hotel at 4 a.m. to begin your expedition. You will have private transportation to the trail head at Tinki. Tinki is a small Andean village located near Ocongate, located at 3,900 m/12,795 ft above sea level. Here, you will meet your horsemen and horses. You will enjoy your first breakfast prepared by our trekking chef.

Then, you will start the gradual, uphill hike. It will be three or four hours until we reach our lunch area. Along the way, we will have amazing views of Ausagnate, far in the distance. We will pass by traditional villages, and perhaps meet some local people, dressed in their colorful, traditional clothing. They may be accompanying their indigenous llamas. Our lunch spot is in an amazing location, surrounded by stunning mountains and an excellent view of Ausangate Glacier peak. After lunch, it will be another two hour hike until we reach our campsite at Upis Alto, near the famous hot springs. Upis Alto is a small village located at 4,100 m/13,451 ft elevation. This will be our first campsite at the skirt of  Ausangate.

DAY 6.- SECOND DAY ADVENTURE: UPIS – CONDOR PASS – PUKACOCHA.

After an early, nutritious breakfast you will prepare for the second day of the hike. Today, you will have wonderful views of the Ausangate glacier peaks. You will also see the lakes and waterfalls, and perhaps some llamas, alpacas and wild vicuñas (the undomesticated ancestor of the alpaca), as well as condors soaring above. We will have a three hour, uphill hike until we reach the first pass, which is at 5,000 m/ 16,404 ft high. You will have magnificent views of the surrounding area, especially in the dry season. In some months of the year, we will hike through some snow.

You will most likely get to see vicuñas, which are the most impressive, wild animals in Peru. They belong to the family of Andean camelids. Today, their fleece is the most expensive wool the world. After taking some amazing pictures, we will continue on a two and a half hour, gradual, downhill hike until we reach a beautiful area, where you will enjoy your second day’s lunch. Following, it will be another two and a half hours until we arrive at our campsite, at Puca Ccocha (Red Lake). This campsite is one of the most beautiful campsites, located at the skirt of the Ausangate peak and at the bank of the lake. You can see amazing sunsets from here, and perhaps some condors and eagles flying nearby.

DAY 7.- THIRD DAY ADVENTURE: PUKACOCHA – CHILLKA – VICUÑA PASS.

We will wake you up early with a hot cup of coca tea, to start one of the most beautiful days of the trek. You will enjoy the majestic views of some of the highest peaks in the Andes, and the depths of the beautiful valleys. You will have two mountain passes to make today.

After an early breakfast, we will start with a two to three hour, steep climb to Alpaca Pass at 5,100 m/ 16,732 ft elevation. Along the way, you will have gorgeous views of the blue lakes and the Ausangate Glacier Peak. You may even see avalanches happening from the glacial hills. Once you reach the summit of this mountain, you will be right in front of Ausangate, so you will be able to enjoy the Chillca Valley, and the many alpaca grazing along these hills. After taking some great pictures, you will continue for another two hours on a gradual, downhill trek, then we reach our lunch spot, located in Chillca Valley. Be aware that some sections of the trail can be a bit difficult to see. You will see views of the waterfalls, green hills and snow-capped peaks.

After enjoying your lunch and a little nap, you will continue on to the second pass of the day, called Vicuña pass, at 5,300 m/17,388 ft elevation. It will be a slow-paced, hour and a half hike to reach the summit of this highest pass of the trek. Along the way, it may be possible to see some condors, and vicuñas. Once we are on top of the mountain we will enjoy a cup or two of traditional coca tea which will be provided by your porters. Then it will be another one hour, downhill hike until we arrive at our campsite at the banks of Lake Yanaccocha, where you will enjoy our daily happy hour of hot drinks. This campsite is located few hours away from our final destination, The Rainbow Mountains.

This is a perfect place to spot the famous Inca constellations and do some star-gazing.

DAY 8.- RAINBOW MOUNTAIN – CHILLKA VILLAGE – CUSCO.

After another early breakfast with your trekking team, you will will gradually trek uphill for an hour and a half until we reach the famous Rainbow Mountains and the Red Mountain Valley, located at 5,200 m /17,060 ft elevation. Your tour guide will walk you to to the perfect spots for postcard pictures. He will also explain why these mountains are different from any other mountains in the Vilcantoa Range. Part of the difference is due to a composition of various minerals, which make different colors of stone striations in the middle of the Red Mountains. This is one of the key tourist highlights in South America, and one of the most beautiful natural attractions in Peru.

After taking photos and enjoying the views, you will continue on the expedition to the end of the trail. This is all downhill, along the Chillca Valley. You will travel three hours until you stop to enjoy your final lunch with your team. We will then drive for 2 hours back to Cusco and drop you off at your hotel. The drive provides nice views of the Andes and we will pass some traditional villages along the way. You will be arriving into Cusco around 6 p.m.

DAY 9.- DEPARTURE TO PUNO – ROUTE OF THE SUN.

In the morning we will depart from the bus terminal and head towards Puno. This is a special journey by bus which allows us to visit the many diverse locations along the way on the route of the sun. There will be planned stops to visit the following:

Andahuaylillas: (the sistine chapel of the Americas, this temple is one of the best examples of the fusion between Catholic and Andean religions).

Raqchi: A Inka temple dedicated to the god Wiracocha, construction of monumental dimensions, an estimated 100 meters long, 26m wide, 14m high. This is the only known temple dedicated to the God Wiracocha, creator of the Universe.

La Raya: Midway point on our journey and highest point on the road – 4335 m.s.n.m. The impressive views here allow us to admire the rugged high altitude, full of tall peaks, many of which are snow-capped, and herds of llamas, alpacas and vicuñas. This is the geografic border between two cultures, the Quechua of Cusco and the Aymara of Puno.

Pucara: This ceremonial center is one of the oldest and most important of the high plains, well known for its lithic structures and tombs.

We are going to arrive to Puno around 5:00pm. At the bus station in Puno, a member of the hotel will be there waiting for you holding a sign board with your name on it to transfer you to our hotel. So, all you need to do is just look for your name.

DAY 10.- FLOATING ISLANDS OF UROS & AMANTANI ISLAND.

A full day of boat excursion afloat Lake Titicaca. We will visit the ancient culture of the Uros and step foot on their floating islands. The islanders will give us a presentation about their lifestyle upon their man-made islands, built using the totora reed which grows among the shores of the lake. We will learn about their existence on these small islands and how they have adapted to its conditions.

Continuing across the lake we will arrive to the island of Amantani. Here we will meet the Quechua families that will offer us a cosy home-stay style lodging and prepare us traditional food for lunch. After lunch we will make the short ascent to the two hilltops of the island while observing the daily lifestyle of the local people. Atop of the island we will visit two ancient pre-Inka temples, Pachatata and Pachamama (father & mother cosmos). In the evening after dinner the community members will hold a small welcoming party for us.

DAY 11.- TAQUILE ISLAND & BACK TO PUNO.

After breakfast on Amantani we will board the boat again to make the short trip to the neighboring island of Taquile. Here we will ascend the beautiful stone paths to the community, a small and quite shy population, not to mention very hard-working and wise, a culture full of art and tradition. Taquiles’ people are cheerful and proud of their origen and culture, happy to share with us the beautiful atmosphere of island life upon the immense lake Titicaca.

DAY 12.- PUNO – JULIACA – FLY TO LIMA & FLY HOME.

DAY 1.- ARRIVAL IN LIMA & TRANSFER TO YOUR HOTEL.

DAY 2.- LIMA CITY TOUR & FLIGHT TO CUSCO.

Drive to the historical center of Lima and the Plaza Mayor, where the Government Palace, City Hall, the Cathedral and the Archbishop’s Palace are located. Move along to the San Francisco Monastery and step inside Casa Aliaga, one of America’s best-preserved colonial mansions. Located across from the Presidential Palace in colonial Lima, Casa Aliaga was built in 1535 by Don Jeronimo de Aliaga, a member of Pizarro’s conquering forces. Seventeen generations later, Casa Aliaga is still inhabited by the Aliaga family, whose heirlooms include beautiful original furniture.

Continue to the district of Pueblo Libre, to visit the Larco Herrera Museum, housed in an 18th-century colonial mansion. The museum holds the most extensive collection of pre-Columbian art in Peru, featuring many fine examples of textile work. Also found in the museum are the materials and tools used by ancient Peruvians to produce their work in ceramics and metal, huaco pottery, gold and silver pieces with semiprecious stones and erotic art pieces.

In the afternoon we will transfer you to the airport in Lima for your flight to Cusco. We will be waiting for you at the airport in Cusco, to bring you to your hotel.

DAY 3.- CITY TOUR – TEMPLE OF THE SUN  & FAMILY DINNER.

Your local expert guide will collect you from your hotel for a tour of the city, starting out at the Santo Domingo convent monastery. This former colonial monastery was previously the Qoricancha Temple, one of the most important temples devoted to the worship of the sun (“in our ancient language “Quechua” the Sun is called INTI”) and according to the chronicles, the Qoricancha was covered in gold leaf and filled with golden representations of nature. Your next stop will be the Plaza de Armas.

After touring the most interesting sites of the city, you will be driven by private vehicle to the countryside just outside Cusco to visit some of the remarkable Inca ruins in the area such as the cult centre of Sacsayhuaman, one of the emblematic buildings of the Inca Empire (just above from the center of the city and a UNESCO World Heritage Site) built by the Inca Pachacutec in the 15th Century. It is a vast fortress built from huge stones and the way how they built and transported and worked is still a mystery. The temple and amphitheatre of Qenko, and the Red Fortress of Puca Pucara.

Once we are on top of the mountain we will enjoy a cup or two of traditional coca tea which will be provided by your porters. Then it will be another one hour, downhill hike until we arrive at our campsite at the banks of Lake Yanaccocha, where you will enjoy our daily happy hour of hot drinks. This campsite is located few hours away from our final destination, The Rainbow Mountains.

This is a perfect place to spot the famous Inca constellations and do some star-gazing.

DAY 9.- RAINBOW MOUNTAIN – CHILLKA VILLAGE – CUSCO.

After another early breakfast with your trekking team, you will will gradually trek uphill for an hour and a half until we reach the famous Rainbow Mountains and the Red Mountain Valley, located at 5,200 m /17,060 ft elevation. Your tour guide will walk you to to the perfect spots for postcard pictures. He will also explain why these mountains are different from any other mountains in the Vilcantoa Range. Part of the difference is due to a composition of various minerals, which make different colors of stone striations in the middle of the Red Mountains. This is one of the key tourist highlights in South America, and one of the most beautiful natural attractions in Peru.

After taking photos and enjoying the views, you will continue on the expedition to the end of the trail. This is all downhill, along the Chillca Valley. You will travel three hours until you stop to enjoy your final lunch with your team. We will then drive for 2 hours back to Cusco and drop you off at your hotel. The drive provides nice views of the Andes and we will pass some traditional villages along the way. You will be arriving into Cusco around 6 p.m.

DAY 1.- ARRIVAL IN CUSCO & TRANSFER TO YOUR HOTEL.

DAY 2.- SACRED VALLEY OF THE INCAS.

Guiding you through to the fertile Sacred Valley, once the spiritual and commercial heartland of the Inca Empire. You will be collected from your hotel by your expert, local guide and private vehicle to be driven firstly to Chinchero, on this site we will appreciate the Inka walls that are very well preserved in the main square as well as many altars directed to the four cardinal points. We will also visit the beautiful colonial church, unique for its work of art. Continuing, we will participate in a wonderful exposition of Andean weaving art; During the weaving we will become familiar with the wisdom of Andean weavings, such and as they are maintained long before Inka times.

Your next stop will be the Incan fortress of Ollantaytambo, the oldest continuously occupied town on the American continent. The narrow streets of Ollantaytambo, along with their canals, have not changed much from the time of the Inca Empire, giving you a feeling of what it would have been like to live during this time. After Ollantaytambo we head to Urubamba where we have a delicious buffet lunch (Not Included).
Then we continue through the Sacred Valley on to Pisaq. where you can see the biggest Inca cemetery with more than 2000 tombs. There we can admire the incredible farming terraces carved into the mountain and the religious area of this important citadel.

There will be enough time to stroll around these magnificent ruins before being driven back to your hotel.

DAY 3 TO 5.- “3 DAYS HUCHUY QOSQO ADVENTURE TO MACHUPICCHU”

DAY 3.- FIRST DAY TREK: CUSCO – TAMBOMACHAY – PUKAMARCA.

Pick up time around 6:00 and 6:30 and then we go towards to the Incan site of Tambomachay, just outside of Cusco, our path leads us through high passes through valleys, small communities and past beautiful mountain lakes. With large areas of grasslands and large open lakes, this area is home to a wide variety of birds including Andean Geese, partridges and lapwings as well as a variety of birds of prey, and also we will see  wild crops, such as tarwi, a lot of andean Grass or straw where our Incas they used to roof of the house with that material. and a large quantity of cactus all of which are regularly spotted throughout the day.

We will be hiking along a path that leads to the Yanacocha lagoons, where we will have our delicious lunch prepared by INTI PERU ADVENTURES team after that We continue on to the Pukamarca pass at 4200m, where we enjoy stunning views of the surrounding area and immense mountains: Veronica, Pitusiray, Chicon and the San Juan snow peaks.

Continuing along the path, we will descend towards the beautiful, remote Andean village Pukamarca at 4010m, where we will have an opportunity to meet with real  local family where they life is agriculture and grazing llamas and alpacas,for taday our accommodation will be here. We will have dinner and sleep just to the side of pukamarca.

DAY 4.- SECOND DAY TREK: PUKAMARCA – HUCHUY QOSQO – AGUAS CALIENTES.

After breakfast, we will walk downhill to the mystical ancient path which will lead us to the Puma Punku Ravine. We will be led into a narrow corridor, between some immense rock walls, where we will discover Incan remains and various Incan bridges and sets of stairs (some of the best examples of Incan stairs anywhere in the world). This canyon is absolutely magical and includes geological formations surrounded by majestic rocks and boulders that direct the river to Huchuy Q’osqo at 3600m,where we will soon be arriving we will visit the archaeological complex of Huchuy Qosqo,  we will explore and received a guided tour, after that we will have lunch with great view of whole sacred valley of the Incas. free time to contemplate yourself and our  mountain surrounding.

then start our trek that lasts approximately 2 hours. While in the complex We continue on our way down the mountain, to Lamay at 3000m / 9840ft. Lamay is a town dedicated to agriculture and cattle raising. Later in the afternoon, our private transport drives us to Ollantaytambo, where we will board an afternoon train to Aguas Calientes. The train ride to get there is an absolutely gorgeous route, world-renowned for its beauty. Upon our arrival to Aguas Calientes all passengers will be shown to their respective hotels. Then we’ll have a family dinner and your guides will deliver the plan for the next morning. A much deserved rest so we’re recharged and ready for Machu Picchu the next day.

DAY 5.- PRIVATE TOUR OF MACHUPICCHU.

After a delicious breakfast at the hotel your private guide will take you on a comprehensive tour of the Machupicchu citadel, really bringing it to life by detailing the history, significance and myths surrounding it as well as taking you to the hidden corners and best viewpoints. Then after your guided tour, you’ll enjoy a delicious lunch before an afternoon at your leisure. You can explore the areas around Machu Picchu or carry on exploring the ruins.

We will coordinate the time to meet in Aguas Calientes to board our train back to Ollantaytambo and then we will transfer you in our private bus or van back to Cusco to your hotel, so with this experiences we have completed our service to Machupicchu and the Sacred Valley of The Incas.

Optional:

The trek to the peak of Huayna Picchu: Huayna Picchu is the mountain that stands next to Machu Picchu. It is a 45 minute hike to the top. Going back down is quite steep, if you are scared of heights. This is done after your tour of Machu Picchu. The cost is $35 per person to hike. Arrangements need to be made at least one month in advance, due to popularity.

Difficulty: Moderate to challenging.

The trek to Machu Picchu Mountain: It has the most spectacular view, It is a 1.5 hours hike to the top. Located to the southwest of the citadel of Machu Picchu with a height of 3,050 m (10,007 ft.), This trek offers unparalleled views of the famous Inca sanctuary and also panoramic views of the surrounding mountainous landscape. The cost is $35 per person to hike.

DAY 6.- DAY AT LEISURE IN CUSCO.

DAY 7.- RAINBOW MOUNTAIN TOUR.

Pick up from your hotel in Cusco very early, and we will undertake a trip to the south of Cusco through the beautiful landscapes of the valley and agricultural communities. The trip will take approximately 2 hours to reach the community of Pitumarka. Once there in the community, we will have a delicious breakfast prepared by our chef from the agency INTI PERU ADVENTURES.

After breakfast we will begin our trek, following a beautiful pass
between mountains, you will enjoy incredible views of the Andes, glacial peaks, red mountains, accompanied by Ausangate, the fifth highest peak in Peru. Also you wil appreciate llamas and alpacas that graze throughout the valley. Occasionally we will be observing local people moving for their daily activities.

The ascent of the route will take us a total of 2 hours approximately, taking us to our final destination the highest point of our trek, Vinincunca or Rainbow Mountain, Here we will stop to admire and appreciate the outstanding views that we will find in all directions and also the rare geological formations with exotic colors. In the distance and below us we will see infinite valleys and glaciers until we lose sight of them.

We will stop to explore for about 30 minutes – the perfect amount of time to rest, immerse ourselves in this wild environment before starting our descent, which will take us about 2 hours. Upon returning to Pitumarka, our cook will be waiting for us with a delicious hot lunch. After lunch we will have time to make some visits to some of the homes of the community and observe the lifestyle and customs that are still
practiced since Inca times. Here Quechua is the native anguage of the Incas, it is spoken very well, and agriculture is essential for life.

At the end of the day, our tour will conclude with the return to the city of Cusco in our private transportation. We will leave you at your hotel around 5:00 p.m.

DAY 2.- CITY TOUR – TEMPLE OF THE SUN  & FAMILY DINNER.

Your local expert guide will collect you from your hotel for a tour of the city, starting out at the Santo Domingo convent monastery. This former colonial monastery was previously the Qoricancha Temple, one of the most important temples devoted to the worship of the sun (“in our ancient language “Quechua” the Sun is called INTI”) and according to the chronicles, the Qoricancha was covered in gold leaf and filled with golden representations of nature. Your next stop will be the Plaza de Armas.

After touring the most interesting sites of the city, you will be driven by private vehicle to the countryside just outside Cusco to visit some of the remarkable Inca ruins in the area such as the cult centre of Sacsayhuaman, one of the emblematic buildings of the Inca Empire (just above from the center of the city and a UNESCO World Heritage Site) built by the Inca Pachacutec in the 15th Century. It is a vast fortress built from huge stones and the way how they built and transported and worked is still a mystery. The temple and amphitheatre of Qenko, and the Red Fortress of Puca Pucara.

DAY 6.- PRIVATE TOUR OF MACHUPICCHU.

After a delicious breakfast at the hotel your private guide will take you on a comprehensive tour of the Machupicchu citadel, really bringing it to life by detailing the history, significance and myths surrounding it as well as taking you to the hidden corners and best viewpoints. Then after your guided tour, you’ll enjoy a delicious lunch before an afternoon at your leisure. You can explore the areas around Machu Picchu or carry on exploring the ruins.

We will coordinate the time to meet in Aguas Calientes to board our train back to Ollantaytambo and then we will transfer you in our private bus or van back to Cusco to your hotel, so with this experiences we have completed our service to Machupicchu and the Sacred Valley of The Incas.

The trek to the peak of Huayna Picchu: Huayna Picchu is the mountain that stands next to Machu Picchu. It is a 45 minute hike to the top. Going back down is quite steep, if you are scared of heights. This is done after your tour of Machu Picchu. The cost is $70 per person to hike. Arrangements need to be made at least one month in advance, due to popularity.

Difficulty: Moderate to challenging.

DAY 1.- ARRIVAL IN CUSCO & TRANSFER TO YOUR HOTEL.

Your adventure begins with a welcoming greeting at Cusco airport to transfer you to your hotel.

DAY 2.- CITY TOUR – TEMPLE OF THE SUN  – CHINCHERO.

Your local expert guide will collect you from your hotel for a tour of the city, starting out at the Santo Domingo convent monastery. This former colonial monastery was previously the Qoricancha Temple, one of the most important temples devoted to the worship of the sun (“in our ancient language “Quechua” the Sun is called INTI”) and according to the chronicles, the Qoricancha was covered in gold leaf and filled with golden representations of nature. Your next stop will be the Plaza de Armas.

After touring the most interesting sites of the city, you will be driven by private vehicle to the countryside just outside Cusco to visit some of the remarkable Inca ruins in the area such as the cult centre of Sacsayhuaman, one of the emblematic buildings of the Inca Empire (just above from the center of the city and a UNESCO World Heritage Site) built by the Inca Pachacutec in the 15th Century. It is a vast fortress built from huge stones and the way how they built and transported and worked is still a mystery. The temple and amphitheatre of Qenko, and the Red Fortress of Puca Pucara.

DAY 3.- SACRED VALLEY OF THE INCAS.

Guiding you through to the fertile Sacred Valley, once the spiritual and commercial heartland of the Inca Empire. You will be collected from your hotel by your expert, local guide and private vehicle to be driven firstly to the archeological site of Chinchero, on this site we will appreciate the Inka walls that are very well preserved in the main square as well as many altars directed to the four cardinal points. We will also visit the beautiful colonial church, unique for its work of art. Continuing, we will participate in a wonderful exposition of Andean weaving art; During the weaving we will become familiar with the wisdom of Andean weavings, such and as they are maintained long before Inka times.

Your next stop will be the Incan fortress of Ollantaytambo, the oldest continuously occupied town on the American continent. The narrow streets of Ollantaytambo, along with their canals, have not changed much from the time of the Inca Empire, giving you a feeling of what it would have been like to live during this time. After Ollantaytambo we head to Urubamba where we have a delicious buffet lunch (Not Included).
Then we continue through the Sacred Valley on to Pisaq. where you can see the biggest Inca cemetery with more than 2000 tombs. There we can admire the incredible farming terraces carved into the mountain and the religious area of this important citadel.

There will be enough time to stroll around these magnificent ruins before being driven back to your hotel.

DAY 4 TO 6.- “3 DAYS HUCHUY QOSQO ADVENTURE TO MACHUPICCHU”

DAY 4.- FIRST DAY TREK: CUSCO – TAMBOMACHAY – PUKAMARCA.

Pick up time around 6:00 and 6:30 and then we go towards to the Incan site of Tambomachay, just outside of Cusco, our path leads us through high passes through valleys, small communities and past beautiful mountain lakes. With large areas of grasslands and large open lakes, this area is home to a wide variety of birds including Andean Geese, partridges and lapwings as well as a variety of birds of prey, and also we will see  wild crops, such as tarwi, a lot of andean Grass or straw where our Incas they used to roof of the house with that material. and a large quantity of cactus all of which are regularly spotted throughout the day.

We will be hiking along a path that leads to the Yanacocha lagoons, where we will have our delicious lunch prepared by INTI PERU ADVENTURES team after that We continue on to the Pukamarca pass at 4200m, where we enjoy stunning views of the surrounding area and immense mountains: Veronica, Pitusiray, Chicon and the San Juan snow peaks.

Continuing along the path, we will descend towards the beautiful, remote Andean village Pukamarca at 4010m, where we will have an opportunity to meet with real  local family where they life is agriculture and grazing llamas and alpacas,for taday our accommodation will be here. We will have dinner and sleep just to the side of pukamarca.

DAY 5.- SECOND DAY TREK: PUKAMARCA – HUCHUY QOSQO – AGUAS CALIENTES.

After breakfast, we will walk downhill to the mystical ancient path which will lead us to the Puma Punku Ravine. We will be led into a narrow corridor, between some immense rock walls, where we will discover Incan remains and various Incan bridges and sets of stairs (some of the best examples of Incan stairs anywhere in the world). This canyon is absolutely magical and includes geological formations surrounded by majestic rocks and boulders that direct the river to Huchuy Q’osqo at 3600m,where we will soon be arriving we will visit the archaeological complex of Huchuy Qosqo,  we will explore and received a guided tour, after that we will have lunch with great view of whole sacred valley of the Incas. free time to contemplate yourself and our  mountain surrounding.

then start our trek that lasts approximately 2 hours. While in the complex We continue on our way down the mountain, to Lamay at 3000m / 9840ft. Lamay is a town dedicated to agriculture and cattle raising. Later in the afternoon, our private transport drives us to Ollantaytambo, where we will board an afternoon train to Aguas Calientes. The train ride to get there is an absolutely gorgeous route, world-renowned for its beauty. Upon our arrival to Aguas Calientes all passengers will be shown to their respective hotels. Then we’ll have a family dinner and your guides will deliver the plan for the next morning. A much deserved rest so we’re recharged and ready for Machu Picchu the next day.

DAY 7.- DAY AT LEISURE IN CUSCO.

Explore the beautiful city of Cusco at your own pace with a day at leisure. It´s time to explore the Incan Puma City.

One of the Highlights of Cusco is our central market, a wonderful way to discover the Andean culture and daily life. This vibrant spot, with its dazzling displays of fresh produce and fascinating local products, could keep you entertained for hours.

At night we will have our family buffet dinner, where we will enjoy live show of typical dances from all over Peru, enjoying amazing traditional andean music.

DAY 8.- DEPARTURE TO PUNO – ROUTE OF THE SUN.

In the morning we will depart from the bus terminal and head towards Puno. This is a special journey by bus which allows us to visit the many diverse locations along the way on the route of the sun. There will be planned stops to visit the following:

Andahuaylillas: (the sistine chapel of the Americas, this temple is one of the best examples of the fusion between Catholic and Andean religions).

Raqchi: A Inka temple dedicated to the god Wiracocha, construction of monumental dimensions, an estimated 100 meters long, 26m wide, 14m high. This is the only known temple dedicated to the God Wiracocha, creator of the Universe.

La Raya: Midway point on our journey and highest point on the road – 4335 m.s.n.m. The impressive views here allow us to admire the rugged high altitude, full of tall peaks, many of which are snow-capped, and herds of llamas, alpacas and vicuñas. This is the geografic border between two cultures, the Quechua of Cusco and the Aymara of Puno.

Pucara: This ceremonial center is one of the oldest and most important of the high plains, well known for its lithic structures and tombs.

We are going to arrive to Puno around 5:00pm. At the bus station in Puno, a member of the hotel will be there waiting for you holding a sign board with your name on it to transfer you to our hotel. So, all you need to do is just look for your name.

DAY 9.- FLOATING ISLANDS OF UROS & AMANTANI ISLAND.

A full day of boat excursion afloat Lake Titicaca. We will visit the ancient culture of the Uros and step foot on their floating islands. The islanders will give us a presentation about their lifestyle upon their man-made islands, built using the totora reed which grows among the shores of the lake. We will learn about their existence on these small islands and how they have adapted to its conditions.

Continuing across the lake we will arrive to the island of Amantani. Here we will meet the Quechua families that will offer us a cosy home-stay style lodging and prepare us traditional food for lunch. After lunch we will make the short ascent to the two hilltops of the island while observing the daily lifestyle of the local people. Atop of the island we will visit two ancient pre-Inka temples, Pachatata and Pachamama (father & mother cosmos). In the evening after dinner the community members will hold a small welcoming party for us.

DAY 10.- TAQUILE ISLAND & BACK TO PUNO.

After breakfast on Amantani we will board the boat again to make the short trip to the neighboring island of Taquile. Here we will ascend the beautiful stone paths to the community, a small and quite shy population, not to mention very hard-working and wise, a culture full of art and tradition. Taquiles’ people are cheerful and proud of their origen and culture, happy to share with us the beautiful atmosphere of island life upon the immense lake Titicaca.

DAY 11.- PUNO – JULIACA – FLY TO LIMA & FLY HOME.

DAY 2.- LIMA CITY TOUR & FLIGHT TO CUSCO.

Drive to the historical center of Lima and the Plaza Mayor, where the Government Palace, City Hall, the Cathedral and the Archbishop’s Palace are located. Move along to the San Francisco Monastery and step inside Casa Aliaga, one of America’s best-preserved colonial mansions. Located across from the Presidential Palace in colonial Lima, Casa Aliaga was built in 1535 by Don Jeronimo de Aliaga, a member of Pizarro’s conquering forces. Seventeen generations later, Casa Aliaga is still inhabited by the Aliaga family, whose heirlooms include beautiful original furniture.

Continue to the district of Pueblo Libre, to visit the Larco Herrera Museum, housed in an 18th-century colonial mansion. The museum holds the most extensive collection of pre-Columbian art in Peru, featuring many fine examples of textile work. Also found in the museum are the materials and tools used by ancient Peruvians to produce their work in ceramics and metal, huaco pottery, gold and silver pieces with semiprecious stones and erotic art pieces.

In the afternoon we will transfer you to the airport in Lima for your flight to Cusco. We will be waiting for you at the airport in Cusco, to bring you to your hotel.

DAY 5.- FIRST DAY TREK: CUSCO – TAMBOMACHAY – PUKAMARCA.

Pick up time around 6:00 and 6:30 and then we go towards to the Incan site of Tambomachay, just outside of Cusco, our path leads us through high passes through valleys, small communities and past beautiful mountain lakes. With large areas of grasslands and large open lakes, this area is home to a wide variety of birds including Andean Geese, partridges and lapwings as well as a variety of birds of prey, and also we will see  wild crops, such as tarwi, a lot of andean Grass or straw where our Incas they used to roof of the house with that material. and a large quantity of cactus all of which are regularly spotted throughout the day.

We will be hiking along a path that leads to the Yanacocha lagoons, where we will have our delicious lunch prepared by INTI PERU ADVENTURES team after that We continue on to the Pukamarca pass at 4200m, where we enjoy stunning views of the surrounding area and immense mountains: Veronica, Pitusiray, Chicon and the San Juan snow peaks.

Continuing along the path, we will descend towards the beautiful, remote Andean village Pukamarca at 4010m, where we will have an opportunity to meet with real  local family where they life is agriculture and grazing llamas and alpacas,for taday our accommodation will be here. We will have dinner and sleep just to the side of pukamarca.

DAY 6.- SECOND DAY TREK: PUKAMARCA – HUCHUY QOSQO – AGUAS CALIENTES.

After breakfast, we will walk downhill to the mystical ancient path which will lead us to the Puma Punku Ravine. We will be led into a narrow corridor, between some immense rock walls, where we will discover Incan remains and various Incan bridges and sets of stairs (some of the best examples of Incan stairs anywhere in the world). This canyon is absolutely magical and includes geological formations surrounded by majestic rocks and boulders that direct the river to Huchuy Q’osqo at 3600m,where we will soon be arriving we will visit the archaeological complex of Huchuy Qosqo,  we will explore and received a guided tour, after that we will have lunch with great view of whole sacred valley of the Incas. free time to contemplate yourself and our  mountain surrounding.

then start our trek that lasts approximately 2 hours. While in the complex We continue on our way down the mountain, to Lamay at 3000m / 9840ft. Lamay is a town dedicated to agriculture and cattle raising. Later in the afternoon, our private transport drives us to Ollantaytambo, where we will board an afternoon train to Aguas Calientes. The train ride to get there is an absolutely gorgeous route, world-renowned for its beauty. Upon our arrival to Aguas Calientes all passengers will be shown to their respective hotels. Then we’ll have a family dinner and your guides will deliver the plan for the next morning. A much deserved rest so we’re recharged and ready for Machu Picchu the next day.

DAY 7.- PRIVATE TOUR OF MACHUPICCHU.

After a delicious breakfast at the hotel your private guide will take you on a comprehensive tour of the Machupicchu citadel, really bringing it to life by detailing the history, significance and myths surrounding it as well as taking you to the hidden corners and best viewpoints. Then after your guided tour, you’ll enjoy a delicious lunch before an afternoon at your leisure. You can explore the areas around Machu Picchu or carry on exploring the ruins.

We will coordinate the time to meet in Aguas Calientes to board our train back to Ollantaytambo and then we will transfer you in our private bus or van back to Cusco to your hotel, so with this experiences we have completed our service to Machupicchu and the Sacred Valley of The Incas.

Optional:

The trek to the peak of Huayna Picchu: Huayna Picchu is the mountain that stands next to Machu Picchu. It is a 45 minute hike to the top. Going back down is quite steep, if you are scared of heights. This is done after your tour of Machu Picchu. The cost is $70 per person to hike. Arrangements need to be made at least one month in advance, due to popularity.

Difficulty: Moderate to challenging.

The trek to Machu Picchu Mountain: It has the most spectacular view, It is a 1.5 hours hike to the top. Located to the southwest of the citadel of Machu Picchu with a height of 3,050 m (10,007 ft.), This trek offers unparalleled views of the famous Inca sanctuary and also panoramic views of the surrounding mountainous landscape. The cost is $70per person to hike.

Difficulty: Moderate to challenging.

DAY 8.- DAY AT LEISURE IN CUSCO.

Explore the beautiful city of Cusco at your own pace with a day at leisure. It´s time to explore the Incan Puma City.

One of the Highlights of Cusco is our central market, a wonderful way to discover the Andean culture and daily life. This vibrant spot, with its dazzling displays of fresh produce and fascinating local products, could keep you entertained for hours.

DAY 9.- QUAD BIKE ATV TOUR – KAYAKING “MAMA PIURAY” & ZIPLINE ADVENTURE.

After a delicious breakfast, You will be collected from your hotel by your expert, local guide, then you will be given the ATV and all the complete equipment such as gloves, helmets and others. You will also be accompanied by our experienced instructor and our professional guide, who will provide you with all the necessary information on the proper use of the ATVs and the complete description of the route. Once we finish this brief orientation, we will begin our trip, through the best of the landscapes of Chinchero, until the Piuray lagoon. During the tour we will have nice spots with wonderful views of the whole archaeological site of Chinchero, the Sacred Valley and extensive fields of Andean crops.

Once we reach the Piuray lagoon (where the ATV tour will be finished), we will start our second adventure “KAYAKING IN MAMA PIURAY”, a beautiful lagoon located in the heart of the Andes. Its waters feed the communities and neighboring agricultural fields and they reflect all their flora, fauna and the mountains that surround it. For about an hour and a half, we paddle through this lagoon in our kayaks, enjoying beautiful moments that allow us to appreciate the nature that surrounds us in all its dimensions.At the end of this fascinating adventure in mama Piuray, we reach the shores at the base camp. Where the local families will welcome us with some hot drinks and ready lunch, share with them a cross cultural experience while enjoying a delicious typical lunch.

Finally, Inti Peru Adventures prepares you to enjoy the best adventure from the heights of Mama Piuray. Walk and enjoy incredible views of the mountains and lagoon of Mama Piuray in our zipline, full of emotion and adrenaline. A unique experience that you can not miss.

DAY 10.- FREE MORNING WALKING TOUR & TRANSFER TO THE AIRPORT.

After a delicious breakfast, you will have an optional Free Morning Walking Tour of this beatiful archeological city of Cusco.

The walking tour includes the following places:

  • Inca Museum.
  • Plaza Nazarenas.
  • San Blas neighborhood.
  • The twelve angle stone.

Then according to your flight schedule we will transfer you to the airport for your flight to Lima and then flight home.
